More about VOX

VOX magazine has been started as a partnership between Evangelical Alliance Ireland, OM Ireland and Oasis of Love Ministries.

"Our vision is to see Christians in Ireland informed, inspired and equipped to engage with one another and with Irish society," shares magazine editor Ruth Garvey-Williams.

"We want to take a close look at what is happening here in Ireland and ask some challenging questions. We also want to share and celebrate the good news that God is at work and lives are being transformed."

VOX (Latin for voice) is designed to give a voice for Christians in Ireland from many different types of churches and backgrounds. It is a place for us to share and debate, to encourage and challenge one another and to explore what God is doing in this nation.

Meet the VOX team…

Ruth Garvey-Williams, Editor
Her passion? Communicating Truth.

When Ruth left her successful job as a journalist and news editor on a London newspaper in 1990 she thought her media career was at an end. She was wrong. Serving in missions with OM International for the last 18 years, Ruth soon discovered her skills as a writer and editor were in demand.

In January 2005 Ruth and her family moved to Donegal to work with OM Ireland. She quickly developed a deep love for Ireland and for the Irish people. She was delighted to join the VOX team as Editor. Ruth and her husband Andrew have two teenage daughters.

Jonny Lindsay, Operations Manager
Jonny spent the last 10 years with OM, sailing the high seas on the MV Doulos and then as part of the team here in Ireland.

He's been dreaming about starting a magazine in Ireland for a number of years, so he's very excited to see things coming together!

Jonny is married to Sheila and they have one toddler with another on the way.

Sheila Lindsay, Advertising Executive
Sheila is from Singapore where she studied business administration, but has lived in Dublin since 2003.

After ten years with OM (where she met Jonny) she's excited about this new challenge.

Sheila is the proud mother of Isaac who's 2 1/2 years old.

Roberta von Meding, Journalist
Born and schooled in Dublin, Roberta von Meding has always had a keen interest in English, writing and literature. She owes her passion for the written word to her mother who is a self-professed bookworm. Having graduated in 2007 with a B.A. (Hons.) in English, Media and Cultural Studies from IADT, Roberta went straight into the publishing industry where she works as an Advertising Executive in prestigious trade publication, Checkout.

She also copy writes for companies who are seeking to reinvent and promote themselves through brochures. Living in Greystones with her husband, Joey, Roberta balances friends, family, work, church, dance and travel on an ongoing basis and would not have it any other way.
